I have Acer 5570Z, bought 3 years back for $399. I had a service plan for until a few months back, which is now expired, so I am on my own. The problem with the laptop started on January 2nd., when it stopped showing any signs of life, no light, no sound, no nothing. When I inserted the power cable, it would spark! After about 2 weeks of leaving my lifeless laptop under the bed, gathering dust, I pressed the power button and guess what? THE LAPTOP WAS WORKING AGAIN!!! IT LIT ! MADE SOUNDS AND SHOWED SIGNS OF LIFE AGAIN
I immediately reinserted the hard drive in its place and powered the laptop again. YES IT WORKED, and for some unknown reason, the laptop seemed to perform faster and better! The laptop worked fine day and night and I used for over 10-12 hours a day. One difference I noticed was that, the bottom of the laptop would heat a lot. I bought an external fan, which somewhat helped.
And again, yesterday, it died. Once I restarted the laptop ------- NO SIGNS OF LIFE AGAIN !!! NO POWER LIGHT ! NO FAN SOUND ! NO BATTERY LIGHT ! AND WHEN I INSERT THE POWER CABLE TO THE POWER PIN, IT SPARKS LIKE BEFORE
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
