Just curious if any of you have similar situation where you had excessive transit time. Did you booked hotel for a night or went out to explore the city, or just spent the time at the airport.

Personally I would go to bar drink alcohol do some shopping may be talk with other friendly people lil bit sleep in sleeping bench see movie or play game or just watch news in internet etc

Drinking alcohol is definitely a good idea esp when your on a transit. 13 hours is a long time to do shopping and stay inside the airport. My recommendations:
- If you know anybody in Doha, go and visit them. Hopefully, they will show you around.
- If you donnot know anybody, book a hotel inside the airport and relax.

Why don't you ask for a hotel? Since your transit is in Doha I assume your flight is by Qatar. Give them a call as per their policy you should get free hotel if transit at Doha is more than 8 hrs.
